Hoosier progress.

Progressive politics…

(before it was cool).

For 20 years, Andy has served as a city councilman who listens, asks hard questions, and works with people of all perspectives and political persuasions to get things done.

Before COVID clearly exposed the reality of a corporate-controlled, profit-driven healthcare system that lets too many get sick and gouges everyone, Andy sponsored resolutions supporting universal health insurance.

Before the outrage over billionaires and corporate money flooding our elections and drowning out other political voices became widespread, Andy opposed the Citizens United decision.

Before 20 years of endless war, Andy opposed the rush to invade Iraq.

Before the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour became a sick joke for millions of hard-working Americans just trying to make ends meet, Andy developed and sponsored Indiana’s first true local living wage ordinance.

Before many understood how turning over control of critical U.S. public infrastructure projects to private foreign corporations was bad for America, Andy stood opposed to a local instance of this policy, the controversial I-69 NAFTA super-highway.

A Hoosier in the House again.

Tennessee Trey likes to pretend he has the interests of ordinary Hoosiers at heart, but there is a reason that big-money industries that contribute millions to Hollingsworth’s campaigns every cycle include securities, insurance, banking, real estate, commercial lending, pharmaceutical, lobbying and fossil fuels. It’s because they’ve seen his voting record, and he votes in their interest — and that of his ultra-rich family. Every. Single. Time.

Andy Ruff has only one constituent: 9th District Hoosiers. Once elected to Congress, he will begin the hard work of helping to build an economy that works for everyone, not just a wealthy, powerful few. Here is what a Rep. Andy Ruff term in the U.S. House of Representatives would mean:

  • Working for legislation that directly creates better wages and healthcare — not some ‘trickle-down’ system that only enriches the wealthy.

  • Fighting big money in politics to ensure fair elections that make responding to the needs of 9th District voters actually matter.

  • Helping our world and our economy now, by not ignoring the incalculable damage caused by pollution and man-made climate disasters just to eke a few more points out of the stock market.

Finally, it means having a real leader in Washington who won’t claim to speak for Hoosiers while in reality voting against their interests. It means having someone who is there to help Hoosiers with issues that really matter in their day-to-day lives.
